WorkingHours Privacy Policy

This privacy statement describes how WorkingHours (hereinafter referred to as "Application") collects and uses personal information.

Usage analytics & crash reporting

The Application uses Firebase, Sentry & Mixpanel for us to be able to keep track of app usage, find bugs, and fix crashes. The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as

Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages
The time spent on the Application
The operating system you use on your device

Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid us in improving the Application. We may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are links to the Privacy Policy of third-party service providers used by the Application:

Cloud Sync

You are able synchronize your WorkingHours data across devices using the Cloud Sync feature. When using this feature, your WorkingHours database is uploaded to your personal Cloud Storage (e.g. OneDrive or Google Drive). The data transfer is done using the official APIs of the respective Cloud services. We do not have access to your Cloud Storage or your database. Please note that the third-party Cloud services that are being used for the Cloud Sync have their own Privacy Policy about handling data.

Background location access

When using the workplace arrival/departure detection in the Android or iOS app, the app accesses your location in the background in order to start/stop the timer accordingly. To protect your privacy, the app does not use this location data for any other purpose and does not store it or send it off the device.

Advertisement (Android app)

In WorkingHours for Android the Google Mobile Ads SDK is used in order to show advertisement banners to support the development of the app. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may access, store, process and share Cookies, device identifiers, your approximate location, your device type and other personal data.
Where legally required, the app will ask for your consent before accessing personal data. Once you've given your consent, you can change your choice in the app's "About" page.
WorkingHours offers a paid "Pro version" which removes all advertisement banners and disables the usage of the Google Mobile Ads SDK and its collection of data.

Advertisement (Windows app)

Timo Partl Software-Entwicklung ("us", "we", or "our") is an app development studio that creates applications, websites, and other digital properties (collectively "Properties").

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use our Properties, and the choices you have associated with that data. We use your data to provide and improve our Properties. By using these, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Definitions

Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).

Usage Data is data collected automatically either generated by the use of our Properties or from our technical infrastructure (for example, the duration of game session or delivery of an advertisement).

Cookies are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).

Data Controller means the natural or legal person or entity who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal information are, or are to be, processed.

Use of Data

We use the collected data for various purposes:

To provide and maintain our Properties.
To provide advertising, including but not limited to interest-based, contextual, and cross-device or application ad targeting.

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it. We or one of our Service Providers may collect and/or process your Personal Data because:

We need to perform a contract with you.
You have given us, as a Data Controller or Data Processor, consent in compliance with applicable laws to do so.

We participate in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and comply with its Specifications and Policies. We use the Consent Management Platform provided by Consent Desk LLC.

Retention of Data

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes and enforce our legal agreements and policies. We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Properties, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to - and maintained on - computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there. Business Transaction

Our Policy on "Do Not Track" Signals under the California Online Protection Act (CalOPPA)

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate the delivery and operations of our Properties ("Service Providers"), provide the Properties on our behalf, process Personal Data, perform Property-related services or assist us in analyzing how our Properties are used. We may provide these third parties with access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf as a Data Processor and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. These third parties may also collect data directly from you for their own use and subject to their own privacy policies.

Other Sites and Digital Properties

Our Properties may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our Properties do not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
